Four suspected Boko Haram members were yesterday killed in a gun battle with the Police in Gombe State. A policeman was also killed during the exchange of fire. The dreaded sect had in the early hours of the day attacked a Police station in Bojude Town in Kwami Local Government Area of the state.
The Gombe State Police Public Relations Of-.cer (PPRO), Fwaje Ata-jiri (DSP), confirmed the incident. Atajiri also alerted the public that some of the insurgents escaped with bullet wounds into near-by bushes. He said the insurgents attacked the Police station at about 2 a.m yesterday with heavy arms, adding that the Police were able to repel the at-tackers but a policeman was killed during the gun battle with the insurgents, which also resulted in the death of three of the sect members.
The PPRO alerted villagers, health centers as well as the general public to beware of people coming to them with fresh wounds, some of which could be bullet wounds.
